Description
Volunteers will be required to teach a classroom of children. The subjects may include (but not limited to) English, math, science, social studies, physical education, health and hygiene, and art. Volunteers will also be able to create after school programs with the children in terms of sports or art clubs.
Volunteers are encouraged to initiate their own projects! You can put together a health information binder and work with the locals to translate it into Ewe, the locally spoken language. You can also give health awareness talks, develop after school programs, and help the locals with fishing/farming!
Highlights
The Maranatha Beach Camp and Cultural Center has started a school in the community of Kewunor. The village consists of 750 people, and the school services about 100 children. These children are at a disadvantage because many of them are not able to walk to Ada Foah for school or cannot afford the school fees.
The school was created to give the children of this area a head start and a potentially different career path other than fishing or farming (95% of the villagers occupations). Volunteers are needed to teach a variety of subjects, including English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health, and Sports.
