Description
The international volunteer project will take place in the Municipality of Agia. Volunteers will cooperate with the 7th board of Byzantine archives for the excavation of the temple of Saint Theodores in the Vathirema of Agia. Specifically, they will clean the vegetation and stones in the area around the temple in order to facilitate the archeologists in their job.
In parallel, the volunteers will prepare and present educative workshops for 80 children, in the context of the creative workshops that the Municipal Library organizes every Friday. The activities will differ every week and will concern the environment, traditional dances, literature etc.

Agia has also always been in the past a place of intense religious life, as evidenced by the large number of important religious monuments. Today, Agia, has become a modern city, where the apple and cherry trees cover a large area of cultivated land.
