Description
As a volunteer you can use your unique set of skills to benefit a local community in Barcelona through a range of different Connect-123 volunteer program opportunities. A variety of projects exist, and community service volunteers may find themselves caring for toddlers and infants at an orphanage, working with drug users or disadvantaged communities, or assisting with education and literacy initiatives for children and adults. You could also volunteer at local hospitals, teach English, mentor street children and care for children at orphanages. Human rights volunteers may carry out peer education training, conduct monitoring and evaluation of community-based interventions, or get involved in a range of other projects. We carefully match your interests and skills to ensure that you'll be able to make a real, tangible difference while volunteering.

Barcelona highlights:
With amazing artwork virtually everywhere you look, a rich cultural history and a nightlife that has a reputation as being one of the best in the world, Barcelona truly has something for everyone! The city offers everything from urban parks to bustling business sectors, to world-famous works of art and some of the most amazing architecture in the world! And there are as many fascinating museums and Medieval Gothic churches as there at top restaurants and clubs. Barcelona is alive with activity and lives up to its reputation as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.
Stepping outside the city limits there are countless areas to visit in the rest of the Catalonia region. Just a short distance away you can visit the monumental city of Giron - which has less tourist traffic than Barcelona, but offers just as much in the way of festivals, cultural activities and restaurants. Or why not visit Figueres and spend the day exploring the Theatre Museu Gala Salvador Dali or soak up the Mediterranean in Sitges and the Costa Daurada?
With so much to do and see in Barcelona and Spain, we're always happy to provide advice on how to plan your adventure.
