Description

Lend your skills as a volunteer in Buenos Aires, and work to change the lives of children and teens through a variety of projects and activities throughout the local communities. Volunteers work with children in all areas, including assisting with childhood literacy projects, leading life skills workshops, putting together youth career expos and working as a teacher's assistant. Volunteers may get involved in work with young people focusing on issues related to HIV/AIDS, sexuality and adolescence, combining soccer and basketball with life skills training, coaching sports at an underprivileged school, putting together workshops and talent shows with high school students, and assisting with the overall operations of youth development and sports programs.

Buenos Aires Highlights:

The birthplace of tango, the Paris of the South America and home to two of the most passionately supported football clubs in the world, Buenos Aires is a city rich with culture, excitement, and adventure.

Program participants are overwhelmed with a choice of museums, street theater, live jazz and cafe orchestras, and will love the theaters and bookshops of the Avenida Corrientes. The city is also home to the 19th century Teatro Colon, as well known for its stunning architecture as for the renowned opera and ballet performances it has hosted. By contrast, small folk clubs called penas give visitors an insight into the music and dance of gaucho culture.

Further afield there are opportunities for whale watching, tours of the wine region, hiking in the Andes, and skiing in Bariloche. Make time for a trip to the dramatic landscape of Patagonia at the end of the world, or to experience the spectacular sight of the Iguazu Falls.

With so much to do and see in Buenos Aires and Argentina, we're always happy to provide advice on how to plan your adventure.
