Description
Malta's history as the "hospital of the Mediterranean" dates back to the Knights and the "Sacra Infermeria." This tradition of quality health care continues through to the modern day, with the level of service provided being equivalent to other European countries. As a volunteer, you can continue this tradition, working to provide outstanding health care to those locals in need.
Health service in Malta includes specialized treatment like immunization, dental services, speech therapy, and Pediatric clinics. Besides these specialized services, paramedic services like nursing, physiotherapy, radiography, and optometry are also offered by the health care units in Malta. Overall health development on Malta includes preventive medicinal checks in the form of immunization, baby clinics, glaucoma screening and weight check clinics.
The government of Malta offers free healthcare to all of its citizens. The biggest government expenditures are health and education.
