Description

Experience the world as a volunteer on incredible service programs worldwide! Since 1984, Global Volunteers has enabled more than 26,000 volunteers to wage peace through service by promoting mutual understanding between people of diverse cultures, and helping to improve their communities. Our development expertise and unique service partnerships with superior hosts, international staff and local consultants enables you to make a significant difference according to the highest standards of international service. Contribute to Genuine Development Projects and help improve the lives of at-risk and disabled children; families in impoverished areas; and youth and adult learners.

Each year, Global Volunteers mobilizes some 300 volunteer teams to work in close partnership with local leaders on community projects in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, North America, South America, and the South Pacific. You're needed to assist with Child Care, Tutoring, Teaching English, Conservation Health Care, Construction/Repair, and more. No specialized skills needed to help! Individuals, couples, families and groups of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.

Tax-deductible service program costs range from USD 995 to USD 3,195 for programs ranging from one to 42 weeks.

Highlights

Our volunteers tell us that volunteering changes their lives. We know that their participation changes the lives of children and families in our partner communities around the world!

Experience how the vast majority of the world lives... Work alongside local people on life-affirming community development projects for one, two or three weeks (flexible schedules and costs for groups and specialized teams.) Match your skills with a project needing your help, and work with our superior hosts and country managers. You will experience immediate acceptance into the host community, which directs and maintains the projects you will work on. Service opportunities are available year-around. The program cost is tax deductible for US taxpayers, saving on average 30%.

Stay in comfortable and safe hotels and enjoy local cuisine in team meals at host community restaurants. Ample time is available at the end of the work day and on weekends to enjoy cultural, educational, historical and natural attractions.

We also raise funds to support our international and domestic partners and to provide sponsorships for educational, social and medical assistance.
