Description
You're needed as a volunteer English teacher in Hanoi! Teach lively classes of youth and young adults on University campuses and in a private secondary school. Experience this fascinating culture as a valued Global Volunteer! We work under the Ministry of Education and Training assist teachers in classrooms and youth at a local "children's village." As a short-term volunteer, you have an exciting opportunity to help advance English -- the international language of commerce, technology, and opportunity. Because Vietnam's long-term development and ability to communicate in the global marketplace depends upon the high-priority effort to make English their language of instruction, every native English speaker is a valuable resource. If you're "hands on" and enjoy teaching or light physical work, join us on this "experience of a lifetime."
Highlights
Through this direct and personal connection with Vietnamese students, you gain a personal understanding of the forward-looking capabilities of Vietnamese people and an appreciation for the work ethic in Vietnam, in particular for their national pride in accomplishing growth and success. The country strives to graduate at least 1,000 qualified English teachers every year, in addition to translators, engineers, computer scientists, business people, etc. -- all fluent in English.
You'll stay in a full-service, beautiful hotel in the "old district" of Hanoi...near all the leading cultural and historic attractions. Each room has television with English channels, beautiful city views, in-room coffee and refrigerator and telephone. You'll enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine at a wide variety of area restaurants and after the work day, you'll have ample time to explore the educational and recreational offerings of the markets, museums and shops steps outside the lobby.
