Description
Greenheart Travel's volunteer program in Kenya allows you the unique opportunity to work alongside the Maasai community as they strive to bridge the gap between their traditional lifestyles and 21st century Kenyan society. As a volunteer in Kenya you will have the opportunity to improve educational facilities, expand income generating activities for women, enrich the lives of the Maasai youth, or improve sustainable food security, all while learning to work within the cultural and social context of the Maasai.
Highlights
Volunteers help with the following activities:
* Help schools acquire necessary supplies
* Construction projects
* Irrigation projects
* Workshops for women's groups and school children
* Assist women's groups with finding new markets to sell their crafts
* Youth sports
* Chicken coop/organic farming
Qualifications
Volunteers should be ages 23 and older, be able to make a 4 week commitment to the project, and have a genuine desire and interest in helping the Maasai community.
