About ISVs Community Support Programs

About ISV's community support projects
If you volunteer in one of ISVs selected Costa Rican communities you will become part of realizing the community's vision for their sustainable development. All community support projects involve home-stays which provides for amazing cultural exchanges between you and your host family. All community volunteer projects play an important role by assisting with many tasks such as: organic farming, painting murals at schools or local buildings, supporting local product initiatives (such as bananas, medicinal plants, coffee and oranges). Education, conservation and economic development are highly related in Costa Rica, as these are some of the basic building blocks of sustainable development. You will also take part in teaching English classes and sports, assist local schools, organize river and beach clean ups and reforestation efforts, help the elderly with farming tasks, plant trees, help out in locally owned plant nurseries, trail building, maintenance and construction.

Work with, and teach local communities the value of sustainability principles through food production in their own organic farms.
International Student Volunteers (a non-profit organization) offers you the chance to volunteer in a conservation program dedicated to the success and expansion of organic farms in these small, rural communities. After your project you will follow it up with an amazing two week adventure tour with activities such as a 3 day white water rafting trip, horse-back riding, coral reef snorkeling, canopy tours and so much more.
