Description
Volunteer abroad in Guatemala at one of numerous NGOs working to improve the life of its citizens. Many of these community development organizations focus on capacity building through literacy campaigns, training and adult education. Some organizations are focusing on business training and microcredit programs in order to encourage entrepreneurs. A micro-finance program focuses on business development. Interns will work with local NGOs to assist with entrepreneurial programs for marginalized groups such as indigenous populations, women and migrant workers. Projects will vary greatly depending on the activities of the NGO and the intern's qualifications.
Highlights
This program can be incredibly rewarding and gives participants the chance to complete challenging fieldwork.
