Description

A once in a lifetime opportunity to experience life off the grid. Whether you are looking to ride horses, learn about permaculture or are inspired to live a self-sufficient and unique lifestyle, this is your calling. This placement provides the opportunity to work on a beautiful one hundred thousdand acre ranch in Argentina with stunning riding terrain, incredible views of the Andes, world class fly fishing, and some of the best hiking in all of South America. The ranch manager has created a wonderful community where you are able to work side by side with the gauchos and truly experience their culture. At the winter ranch (May-August), volunteers live with the gauchos, do ranch chores and ride horses daily to check on the resident guanaco (related to the llama) population. The summer ranch is located near fishing and here the volunteers live with gauchos and help with the garden and other chores.

Highlights

Also volunteers have full use of the recreational facilities; squash court, volleyball, sauna, running trails and all of the camping spots over the 100,000 acre ranch. The property reaches up to the border with Chile in the high Andes, including a 500 acre lake and a hot spring - the place is lovely beyond compare and offers a wondrous energy hit, largely due to the clement weather and the isolation - no cars, no planes overhead, no television etc.

This opportunity is part of the LEAPYEAR program - Check out our website for more details.
