Description
Located in rural areas, the program delivers care to under-privileged Indian people. This is most suitable for volunteers in India who are medical students or who have completed first aid. The work falls into three categories.
Assisting at health check up camps: carrying out physical examinations, diagnosing and referring patients; distributing prescribed medicines and giving oral hygiene advice.
Health awareness campaigning: delivering health education to local organisations, groups of women, young people and school children in rural villages, as well as working on raising HIV/AIDS awareness and conveying first aid information.
Regular volunteer work: when not involved in health care related assistance, volunteers perform duties under the Education Program for Children Living on the Street.
