Description

Work closely with a poverty-stricken local community in the outer reaches of Buenos Aires that lacks basic amenities and services, such as running water or paved roads. Residents in these communities often do not have access to proper education, food or child care services. The objective of this internship program is for interns to work directly with the community in often challenging and semi-intense conditions in order to improve the overall situation and stability of the community.

The Mente Argentina Volunteer Program fee covers all our services including the unique volunteer position in Buenos Aires, safe and secure accommodation in the best neighborhoods in Buenos Aires (Palermo, Barrio Norte, Recoleta), a wide range of cultural immersion activities, and personal advice and support services throughout your entire stay.

Whether you are a beginner or have been studying Spanish for years, being surrounded by the language every day will help you take your Spanish to a new level. But if you would like to jump start your ability to speak and understand Spanish, the Mente Argentina Volunteer Program offers an optional introductory Spanish course during your first weeks in Argentina (Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm). This is an opportunity to refresh your memory and learn common Argentine expressions as well as specific vocabulary that you will need for your interactions as a volunteer.

Mente Argentina's volunteers have the opportunity to choose to work in a variety of different fields, including educating children from under-privileged backgrounds, HIV/AIDS counseling, and medical/health volunteering. Through our program, volunteers will have a chance to form a deep connection to the people of Buenos Aires and contribute to the improvement of life in Argentina!
