Education Assistance in Ghana
Location: Ghana: Cape Coast
Program Duration: 1-2 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 1-2 weeks
Dates: July 2 - July 16
600 California Street 10th Floor San Francisco, CA 94108 United States
Description
While access to basic education, particularly for girls, has increased in Cape Coast recent years, access to secondary education remains limited in many rural areas. Schools remain vastly underfunded and the quality of education continues to suffer. Spend two weeks with ProWorld and our partner organizations to help improve access and quality of education in the areas of Cape Coast and its suburbs that need it most. Set amongst beautiful beaches and home to Cape Coast Castle, this coastal city was previously one of the largest slave holding sites in the world, and is a town steeped in history and contradictions. Participants will work on a variety of projects in education advancements, including classroom assistance, curriculum development, helping with after school programs, or improving school infrastructure. You will also have the opportunity to explore Cape Coast's pristine beaches, castles and colorful markets.
