Description

The focus of this program is to help improve the conditions of local schools in the province of Surin.

Figures show that government schools receive very little funding. The little money they do receive has to aid the pupils, the curriculum and building renovations and repairs. Ultimately, this means that these schools tend to rely on parental and community donations. However families in poor areas do not have the funds to support the school which means they are often in need of restoration work. With over 1000 schools in the province of Surin there is much need for volunteer support and this is where you come in!

The volunteer work that you may get involved with may include the following: painting classrooms and libraries, renovating kitchens, hygiene maintenance such as running water, toilets and washing facilities and building outside teaching facilities, gardens and play areas. The list of requirements is endless and can only be reduced by the work volunteers will undertake.

Highlights

This is the perfect program for any volunteer eager to get involved in worthwhile volunteer work and the chance to get their hands dirty. You will help with various projects that will help to develop the local schools.

By the end of your volunteer experience, we hope that you feel a real sense of achievement knowing that you have helped contribute to a variety of resources that will benefit the local children in the future!
