Who Should Volunteer at the Clinic?

Anybody can volunteer at the clinic! You do not need any formal health care training to qualify! Social workers, physicians, retired people, students, nurses, lawyers, teachers, EMTs, civilians, surgeons, the general public, veterinarians, armed forces personnel, specialty physicians, dental hygienists, pharmacists, general dentists, specialty dentists, podiatrists, chiropractors, healthcare social workers, optometrists, physical therapists, and any other caring individuals may volunteer at the clinic with the health care services anywhere in Tola Nicaragua. In fact, we have seen everybody from Peace Corps workers to the layperson volunteer at the clinic with the health care services all over the world.

You do not need to have a medical background to volunteer with us.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH VOLUNTEERING ABROAD?

* While there are some basic fixed costs, your choice of accommodations will determine the final pricing:
* Airfare ranges from USD 500 to USD 700 based on travel dates chosen, time of year and departure city.
* Round trip transportation from Managua to the Clinic is USD 300 (The SUV has room for 4 people and you can split the cost. Local transportation to schools, other hospital and medical visits besides your hotel - close to the clinic- is included.)
* Hotels are available at different levels at Limon 1 the town next to us: from USD 300 to USD 560 (weekly, to be paid locally; includes three meals daily) our best recommendation is Buenaonda Resort, with excellent views and 1 minute walk to the beach. Rancho Santana with more rooms and houses to rent.
* Program donation of USD 400 to be paid before arriving to Nicaragua.
* Spending money of USD 50 per week.

The Roberto Clemente Health Clinic Nicaragua's Mission Statement

The mission of the clinic is to provide services in general healthcare, emergency and preventive medicine to the rural population of Rivas Nicaragua. The clinic provides low-income children and elderly patients with subsidized care when necessary. We created this Volunteer Program in Nicaragua to facilitate people like you to volunteer and help others in need. Students from High School, Undergraduate, Graduate PHD, professional in the medical field and others can come to Volunteer Abroad in Nicaragua.
