Description
Combine adventures along the tropical beaches of Fiji with service and immersion in traditional mountain villages for an unforgettable Fijian adventure that lets you experience some of our favorite places in this incredible country.
First Stop, Tropical Paradise
You'll start your week with a boat trip through tiny islands covered in palm trees and lined with white-sand beaches. Stop to snorkel at a sand bar in the middle of clear tropical waters, search for coconuts along island shores, and ease your way into life in paradise. After a good night's rest at a local resort, get ready for a little fun in the sun at world-renowned Natadola Beach before journeying into the traditional culture of the remote Highlands.
Breathtaking Vistas, Towering Waterfalls
The next several days you will be welcomed like family into a small locally run retreat where you will sleep in a bamboo bure, share in traditional ceremonies and learn about life in the bush. You will explore the lush landscape with our local guides who are eager to show you the secrets of their Highlands home. Trek through the mountains in search of local foods growing wild in the forest, fish in winding rivers, swim beneath a towering waterfall, and take a ride on a bilibili raft. The way of life here is sure to enchant you.
Service in Remote Schools and Small Villages
As your adventures in Fiji continue, you will learn about the need for service in the remote mountain villages and will get involved in meaningful projects focused on education and access to clean water. Spend time at a local school helping students practice their English language skills, leading art and sports enrichment programs, and working on much-needed building projects to improve school facilities. You may also work alongside villagers in a small farming settlement to install tanks and piping to improve the community's supply of water.
As your trip comes to a close, you will make a final stop at a much-loved retreat to swim and play at spectacular waterfalls before returning to Nadi to explore the markets in search of the perfect souvenir to bring back home. This is an awesome combination of service, culture and adventure!
During this 10-day program, you can earn up to 12 community service hours. Connect this program with another in Fiji or any of our other South Pacific countries for a fun-filled summer.
