Description
Annually, over 50 million wild animals are captured in the Amazon region. Alarmingly, 90% of these poor animals die in the process of being caught and/or during transportation to their destination country, mainly in Europe and US. The situation of these poor and defenseless creatures is absolutely shocking!
The Amazon jungle is the world's largest rain forest, with the greatest flora and fauna diversity on Earth. While the rain forest is already facing increasing threats of deforestation, controversial plans for new roads, gas pipelines and other development projects, experts agree removing precious wildlife is the last thing the jungle needs.
This center needs the help of any individuals dedicated to protecting, rehabilitating and advocating for stronger enforcement in banning illegal wildlife trades.
Highlights
While helping to take a stand in animal welfare, don't forget to take a break once in awhile and explore. Ecuador is one of eighteen mega diverse countries in the world, with more than many thousands of different animal and bird species, birthplace of Darwin's Theory of Evolution and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
You will be absolutely amazed by the unique natural beauty of Ecuador as well as by numerous other tourist attractions like the tropical Amazon Basin in the east and the Andes which cross the whole country.
