Description
It is a lovely city, but too costly for many of the people who work in the government and service industries to afford. So, like so many great cities in the developing world, Abuja is surrounded by vast neighborhoods of poverty. So volunteers will be working side by side with local families and with the Fuller Center to help provide simple, decent homes for those in need. Volunteers will mainly take part in concrete block-laying, mixing of concrete and digging, and occasionally some painting.
Highlights
Having the opportunity to immerse yourself in a different culture and work side by side with local families who are in need of decent, simple housing. You get to experience the joy of giving a family a light of hope by providing them with a home and helping them take a step towards a better life! While our work site is an active construction zone, it is also an active neighborhood with many families kids which you will have the opportunity to get interact with and get to know. On days off, the team will tour the town and its environs. There will be opportunities to visit markets and see cultural shows. There are also many beautiful sites to see in Nigeria
