100% non profit volunteering - Yes your money goes to the project and not in our pockets.
What will I be doing?
Our volunteers help to build and cultivate the land on the projects, interact with the families and work with them towards an achievable goal a new home and a positive future. But your not there just there to build homes but to demonstrate the possible success achieved with the cohesion of effort, teamwork and solidarity.
What will I achieve?
We work primarily with widowed families in a rural Cambodian village near Siem Reap to build suitable housing and raise the families living standard above the poverty line. Volunteers are directly assisting in this process and physically seeing how their money is being spent to benefit families in need.
The program is not simply a building initiative, we work with the families and the community to give them the opportunity to work towards a more comfortable life. The success we have so far seen has highlighted both the need of this program and its effectiveness in rebuilding the economic base of the community.
We do everything possible to ensure that when we step back the family has the means to provide for themselves by utilising their land. We also monitor their progress and provide further assistance if the situation is justified.
I'm not a builder am I needed?
* Yes. Our local teams are fully trained, and you'll work alongside them. We want volunteers who are prepared to muck in and work hard, and have a laugh in the process.
