Description
If you've got a flare for the fine arts, then VFVs teaching fine arts to disadvantaged children project could be just the volunteer project you're looking for.
You probably have seen recent YouTube videos of Filipino street children break dancing, Filipino prison inmates dancing to Michael Jacksons Thriller, and our local flight attendants dancing to Lady Gaga. So you know that Filipinos love to dance! If you stroll through our neighborhood, you'll probably see children, outside their homes, practicing the latest dance steps. They're good at it and thoroughly enjoy themselves.
Dancing is an excellent way of helping disadvantaged children to express themselves, to gain self-confidence, and to learn social skills. It also gives the children something fun and wholesome to do. There are, however, few opportunities for disadvantaged children to participate in dance classes. Fortunately, many accomplished and enthused individuals have volunteered during the past few years.
