Description
This volunteering project involves the monitoring of endangered marine turtles of the Red Sea. You will work hands-on in the field to collect data on feeding and behavioral ecology of green and haksbill turtles, as well as their nesting activity.
You will help gather important information to be used to enhance conservation efforts of Red Sea marine megafauna.
Highlights
Volunteers will get the opportunity to take part in all the aspects of the research and will have a chance to help identify, measure, tag and track the turtles, record nest locations, and estimate hatchling success among others.
Everyone will get the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of this hugely important research. You will get to work hands on with marine animals that you would normally never get a chance to see. This project would be a great experience for anyone and you will get the satisfaction of knowing that your work is for a good cause.

Qualifications
There are no qualifications needed for this position. If you feel that an activity could be too difficult for you, you can decide not to do it and do something else instead. There are a lot of activities in-water or on boats and there will always be work to do. This expedition requires a moderate level of fitness, good swimming skills and feeling comfortable on boats would be advantageous if you want to fully enjoy the experience.
