Volunteer Programs in the Peruvian Amazon
Location: Peru: Moyobamba, Tarapoto, Yantalo
Program Duration: 1-2 weeks, 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks, 3-6 months (includes high school academic semester abroad)

Description
Participants will be actively involved in teaching adults and K-12 students. Health care professionals will see clinical, surgical, nutrition, maternity and child care areas.
The school year in Peru is March to December.
Active participation with the community of 600 families is expected.
Highlights
Opportunity to improve your Spanish skills, live and share experiences in a new cultural environment. Many grad and undergrad students come to Yantalo with a pre-approved project from their College or University, which may or may not have value for credits.
MDs will find unique cases of tropical diseases!

Qualifications
Health care and education professionals and/or university students. A letter of introduction or reference, plus a copy of Curriculum Vitae. Must volunteer for a minimum of 8 dates. Range 8 days to 12 weeks.
MDs, RNs, DDs, English, Art, Music, Sport teachers are welcome. Students of architecture, landscape design and computer sciences are welcome.

Cost Include Description:
International transportation ranges from USD 900 to USD 1500 depending on your city of origin.
Accommodations at family homes at USD 1 per night. Meals range from 6 to 10 USD per day.
